Why choose Kakobuy? Benefits and limits

What every agent does, what this one does differently, when to walk away

Policy and interface examples below come from official captures checked on 10 October 2026. Timings are published indications, not guaranteed delivery dates. Older UI amounts, offers and routes are illustrative; current order terms and checkout govern. Open an image for full size.

An honest pitch has three parts. Most of what any agent offers is table stakes for the whole trade; a few things about this one are genuinely structural; and there are buyers who should pick a different service. All three parts follow.

What is Kakobuy?

Kakobuy is a purchasing agent: it places a supported marketplace order on your behalf, receives and visually checks the arrival, stores it, and arranges an international shipment you select. This separate guide helps you evaluate that process; it does not operate the agent or hold your order.

The work an agent does

Buying from Taobao or 1688 on your behalf, receiving goods at a Chinese warehouse, photographing them, consolidating several orders into one box and flying it out on third-party routes: that is the job description of the entire industry, not a feature of any one firm. Free storage windows, QC photos and route menus differ in detail, but their existence differentiates nobody. Judge any agent, this one included, on the measurable edges of those services, not on their presence.

The journey pages of this site are useful here precisely because the physical process is nearly universal: a scale, a camera, a shelf and a packing bench exist in every agent's building. What differs is what gets written down, what it costs, and what the printed rules commit to.

What Kakobuy does differently, structurally

Four printed facts stand out against the trade's usual shape. First, the fee model: the help centre promises shopping-agent service with no handling fee at all, so the platform's margin is not a visible percentage on your order. Second, the storage window: 100 free days for normal orders from In storage, with a reminder mail on day 90, may help when collecting orders from several sellers; compare each agent’s actual storage and return conditions. Third, the paper trail: free intake photos, a free three-photo record of the sealed parcel on request, and itemised freight with packaging and insurance printed per parcel in your account. Fourth, corporate legibility: a US entity and a UK company number are printed on the contact page, which gives you entity details to verify, without establishing service quality.

Set against that, one honest gap and one easy miss. The retained official sources do not establish a fixed number of free intake photos per item. The warehouse city, by contrast, is published: help articles 52, 82 and 95 place it in Xiamen, inside text about seller dispatch and inbound forwarding rather than anywhere labelled as an address. The full street address still only appears inside the logged-in flow. Where this site cannot verify a figure, it says so rather than inventing one.

The retained 8 October 2026 comparison recorded +8.5% FX markup; its FX-plus-standard-service total was the same, with a zero standard service fee. Payment-channel fees are separate. The fee guide explains how to compare the actual funding cost instead of treating a historical rate as a quote.

The part where you should pick someone else

Walk away, or at least compare, if any of these describes you. You need verified authenticity: the inspection rules check appearance only and say so, and electronics are explicitly not tested for function or authenticity, so flagship-priced electronics deserve a service with real bench testing or a domestic purchase. You need speed above all: reviews take working hours, domestic post takes days, and route windows are estimates and can change; compare an eligible courier service using the actual quote and dispatch requirements. You ship restricted categories: pure liquids, powders, magnetic goods and some batteries are refused by most of this operator's routes at the security belt. Or you want someone to carry customs risk for you on ordinary lines: outside the duty-free routes, clearance questions land on the recipient, in writing.

Official help centre anti-counterfeiting policy stating that non-authentic products are strictly prohibited with account suspension among the printed consequences
The policy that frames the authenticity question: the operator bans non-authentic goods outright, in its own help centre.

Three ways to check this page against reality

Nothing above needs to be taken on trust. The fee promise and the storage window are short help-centre articles you can read in two minutes; search the help centre for the storage period article and the service charge article and compare wording. The route claims replay by running the public estimator at a kilogram for your own country and reading the line characteristics column. And the corporate footing is a registry lookup: the contact page supplies a UK company number you can check in the official register. This guide does not establish the relationship between the published entities. If any of those checks disagrees with this page, the page is wrong and the correction address is on the about page.

The case for this catalogue alongside the agent

A separate question from the agent is why to browse through a catalogue at all instead of searching raw marketplaces. Three reasons, all practical. Curation: category labels narrow a broad search, while each candidate still needs its own seller and specification checks. Language: cards carry English labels, where the source listings run on Chinese size charts and seller slang. And continuity: a category gives you other candidates when one listing disappears; this static guide does not guarantee that every external link is continuously repaired.

This particular guide adds the part catalogues usually skip: what happens after the order, told as a physical process with its receipts. Browse the sixteen shelves, then read what the warehouse does with whatever you pick.
